When preparing for company meetings, most investors focus on the research, the numbers, the issues…
But what about the person you are meeting with?
Who are they as human beings, what are their hobbies, what do they care about, how do they see reality and what’s their context when you are meeting them?
Shifting your focus from the ‘what’ to the ‘who’ makes your preparation less tedious, it helps the relationship, and it allows you to ask better questions and get maximum value from the person in front of you.
In this short episode, I unpack this idea to help you get more out of meetings with company management, but I think it’s equally relevant if you are selecting fund managers.
